Input on Short Sale Forms Wanted by August 14

In May, the Standard Forms Committee established a subcommittee whose principal task was to work on creating a draft form for use in short sales transactions. The subcommittee spent many hours thoroughly considering a number of other short sales forms before presenting a draft to the full committee. The result is the creation of the Short Sale Addendum to Purchase Contract and the Short Sale Addendum to Listing Contract.
Over the next month, REALTORS® will have the opportunity to read the draft forms and submit comments, which will be helpful to the committee in finalizing the forms. The final draft will be presented to the Executive Committee for approval in September.

Short sales issues was identified by the National Association of REALTORS®’ Risk Management Committee as one of the most significant emerging issues for real estate brokers and sale people in managing real estate business risks. The Committee has created information and educational tools to assist members in addressing this issue in their own business.

The Hawaii Association of REALTORS® is seeking nominations for the 2008 REALTOR® of the Year award, which honors individuals who have contributed the most to the advancement of the profession and the community in the past year.
It's up to REALTORS® to help decide who will be our top volunteer for the year. If you know someone who is a strong candidate for REALTOR® of the Year, please complete and submit a candidate application form available.
